Stephen L. Lackey serves as Senior Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Floyd, Virginia.  He grew up on the Southside of a small industrial town in Martinsville, Virginia.  He learned much about church life having grown up as the son of a pastor.  His love for people and God, lead him into full time ministry.  Pastor Lackey received advanced education in Biblical Studies at Piedmont Baptist College, located in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  While pastoring his first church, he continued his studies receiving his Bachelor of Theology degree from Covington Theological Seminary.   Pastor Lackey has served in various ministries over the years, beginning as a Bible teacher at Stanleytown Baptist Academy.   Subsequently, he served as pastor at Central Baptist Church in Axton, Virginia.  He continued his ministry at Community Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina during the late 1980’s. Pastor Lackey and his family served as missionaries with Baptist Mid-Missions in church planting and camp ministries from 1989-1998 in North East Brazil. He has been in ministry work for over 35 years. He has spent the last eighteen years in Floyd County, Virginia where he has been involved in establishing the present work at Grace Baptist Church.
